Toronto, Canada. The Charleston Battery tied the Toronto Lynx 2-2 Sunday afternoon at Centennial Stadium in front of 3,392. The Battery took the lead twice and had one player sent off as they failed to hold on for all three points. The Lynx scored the tieing goal in stoppage time at the end of the game.

In the second minute Toronto almost broke through as the ball was worked to defender Sean Fraser on the right side of the penalty-area. Fraser hit a shot at the goal but Charleston goalkeeper Mike Behonick made the save diving to his left.

Seconds later the Battery scored the opening goal. Jesus Martinez chipped the ball across the box to midfielder Chris Goos. Goos took a touch to control the ball then tucked it neatly past Toronto goalkeeper Richard Goddard.

The Lynx replied in the 20th minute as midfielder Jaime Dodds hit a speculative shot from twenty yards out. Behonick dove to his left and made the initial stop however the ball spun awkwardly and crept over the line, just inside the far post.

In the 36th minute forward Jesus Martinez slipped through the middle of the Toronto defense. He hit a hard shot on-goal but it struck Goddard in the face and was cleared away from the danger area.

Charleston were reduced to ten men just after half-time as Drew Kopp was ejected for bringing down Wyn Belotte at the edge of the box.

The Battery took the lead again in the 60th minute through forward Alon Lubezky. Midfielder Jesus Martinez played a deep cross to the back of the box and Lubezky stroked it home from six yards out.

As the game wore on the Lynx pressed their man-advantage and finally equalized in the 92nd minute. The ball was played into the box where it was not fully cleared by the Battery. Midfielder Sita Taty Matondo sprang onto the loose ball and lashed it past Behonick for the goal.
